HOT TANK COMPOUND

DEGREASER, DERUSTER,

AND PAINT REMOVER

DESCRIPTION

HOT TANK COMPOUND is a heavy duty liquid alkaline product used to clean ferrous metals by the hot vat soaking method.  It removes rust, grease, oils, engine varnish, grime, heat-hardened resins, tar, and other stubborn soils. It cleans automobile radiators quickly and thoroughly.  Mechanical agitation may be used if desired. Agitation reduces immersion time by producing a scrubbing effect on the parts being cleaned.

DIRECTIONS

HOT TANK COMPOUND should be used at 10 – 15 percent concentration and heated to 200° F. or higher.  Immersion times may vary from a few minutes to about two hours depending on concentration, temperature, and agitation.  A pressure rinse with water is used to flush away the loosened soils.

When charging the tank, fill half full with cold water.  Add HOT TANK COMPOUND slowly with mixing. Heat will be generated when the compound is added to the water.  Add remainder of water and heat the tank.
